Welcome to Lefevre Chocolate

A Passion for Chocolate, A Story of Love

Over 30 years ago, Richard was challenged by a girl he was keen on: “Bet you can’t make chocolates!” and if you know Richard, you know he never backs down from a challenge! He threw himself into researching and learning, and before long, he’d done it – all while working as a painter decorator alongside his late father, Joe.

That was the moment the chocolate bug bit him. He visited London’s finest chocolatiers, received informal training from the renowned Paul A Young and began selling his creations to friends and colleagues every Christmas.

Word spread. Local cafes, restaurants and wedding couples came calling. But life, as it does, brought other priorities – Richard stepped back from chocolate to care for his beloved late father, Joe. After his passing, Richard moved from Bloxwich to Shrewsbury, taking up a role as a Chemistry Technician, and quietly began making his famous 12 Days of Christmas boxes again – just a little something to spread festive joy.

And then came Laura.

It was at that very job that Richard and Laura first met. They lost touch for eight years – until a chance encounter on a cold, snowy January night brought them back together. Laura, ever the businesswoman, remembered those chocolates and saw the potential. Together, they decided to turn a passion into something more.

Lefevre Chocolate was born and so was a beautiful romance. Richard and Laura are now married, with their daughter Freya, born during the first lockdown in May 2020, growing up surrounded by the sweet smell of handcrafted chocolate.
